Food World have released their debut 3-inch release. This is 3 inches of pure americana. Food World is the new moniker for Mr.Stonecipher Vs. Somnaphon. Concerning the name change, they issued this statement: "For obvious reasons within our control we have now become Food World." |

according to the Gregorian Calendar hanging on my wall, the end of 2008 is fast approaching. it is shaping up to be a busy & productive year ahead. numerous releases are planned for 2009:
a somnaphon trilogy is being released. part 3 will be released first. it is called "Florida". in addition to the three albums being released as a trilogy, there is a fourth group of songs that are being assembled for another possible release. several compilations will be featuring Somnaphon tracks as well. it is possible that a fifth cd could be released this year featuring all of these disparate compilation tracks. Mr.Stonecipher Vs. Somnaphon might be coming up with an actual name for their project this year. Whether they do or not, a 2-cd set is in the works, and possibly a vinyl EP as well. A collaboration with Carl Kruger may surface also. we shall see.. |

Mr. Stonecipher Vs. Somnaphon have released their new cassette tape called "The Horsemaster's Daughter." This is some fine American Noise. The tapes can be purchased for 8 U.S. dollars (shipping is included) from the consume page. Additionally, Somnaphon has contributed songs to two new compilations. First is the song "Dweller On the Threshold" released on a "best of" compilation from Dutch radio station NTNS. Second, a new song called "You Threw Our Clothes Onto the Interstate" has been released on Vox, a compilation by Intelligent Machinery. Somnaphon has a track on Ratskin Records 13,000 milliseconds compilation. The CD is a collection of 13 second songs from many famous artists/musicians such as Venetian Snares, Matmos, Otto von Shirach, Mr.Stonecipher, and Thrones, among many more. Mr. Stonecipher Vs. Somnaphon will be releasing a new cassette tape titled "The Horsemaster's Daughter." This is to be released through 910 Noise and should be available by Halloween 2008. If all goes according to schedule, The tape release party will coincide with their Halloween performance at Bottega Art Gallery in Wilmington, NC. Finnaly, Somnaphon will be releasing a "trilogy" over the course of the next several months or year... Part 3 "llanquihue" is being released first. It will be a remix album of sorts, featuring reconstructions from various artists such as Mr. Stonecipher, Subterrene, and Carl Kruger. More info later... |

Somnaphon has release a new EP called Aves Equui. limited to 99 hand made copies, and available only at shows and to the special select few. it is a companion to the EP "Saturnalia" which was released last year.

Phlimm is finishing up work on the next release, Fire Mind Wisdom, which is due to be released this summer. it is the culmination of two years worth of excess and arrhythmia. it is earthen and it is solar. Another free CD single, called Thanatos, will be released in conjunction with the Fire Mind Wisdom. Thanatos will be a sister to Saturnalia. The CD will consist of three songs, three psychedelic meditations on death. Whereas Saturnalia was concerned with space travel, time travel, consciousness expansion, etc... Thanatos deals with death and dreams. Thanatos & Hypnos. Death and his twin brother Sleep. Again, the CD will be limited to 99 hand decorated and numbered copies. |
